Showcasing Custom Wrapping Paper Designs in 3D
A client recently reached out with a fun request: they wanted their custom wrapping paper designs brought to life in a way that felt polished and realistic. To make it happen, I turned to Blender.
I started by applying their designs to a 3D gift wrap model using UV mapping, which allowed me to lay out the artwork perfectly on the surface of the objects. Once the designs were in place, I staged the scene with realistic lighting inside Blender to give the renders a natural, well-lit look.
One of the final images involved a bit of creative compositing—I combined a real photograph with a digitally created picnic table, then placed the 3D-wrapped gifts on top to blend both worlds. The other renders were shot on 3D infinity walls for a clean, studio-style aesthetic.
After rendering, I brought everything into Photoshop to add branded elements and polish the visuals with some final design touches.
It was a fun mix of technical and creative work, and the end result gave the client a unique way to show off their product in a realistic, eye-catching way.
